Truth Library: A Collective Mission to Restore Trust in Knowledge

This article gathers the founding philosophy, roadmap, and purpose behind Truth Library, and serves as a guide for everyone joining or supporting our crowdfunding campaign. It is a space to understand not only what we are building, but why it matters — and how our community is shaping a new, truth-first infrastructure for climate knowledge, sustainability, and every domain where misinformation harms society.

A Message From the Founder

Hi, I’m Laura Degiovanni, founder of TiiQu.

I am honoured to lead a volunteering-first network of engineers, scientists, and innovators committed to one mission: delivering truthful, unbiased knowledge to everyone.

More than 120 contributors have helped, shaping this project over the last 18 months — bringing expertise spanning AI, engineering, data science, research, and sustainability. It is thanks to this dynamic community that today we are releasing a game-changing knowledge infrastructure.

We live in an era where information is abundant — yet trust is collapsing.AI accelerates the speed of content creation, but not its accuracy. Media ecosystems amplify hype, not verification. Institutions struggle to maintain the authority they once had.

Truth Library was born as an answer to this crisis.

Why Truth Library Exists

Truth Library began with a simple question:

How can we ensure reliable information remains accessible, verifiable, and truthful to source in a world where information is increasingly manipulated?

The project is built for those who care about truth and want tools that defend it: researchers, policymakers, journalists, educators, sustainability professionals, regulators, citizen-scientists, and anyone committed to evidence-based thinking.

Our initial focus is Climate Change, but the mission is broader:

1. Start with Climate & Environmental topics

2. Expand to Social & Governance sustainability

3. Extend to emerging domains where misinformation creates real harm:

   • AI & emerging technologies

   • Healthcare & analytics

   • Policy, innovation, and any topic where truth is at stake

We are building an infrastructure of provenance-rich knowledge that grows with its community.

How the Library Works: From Research to Verified Q&A

Truth Library turns scientific research into structured, transparent, verifiable Q&A units.

The strength of the retrieval system lies in the distributed way how research enters the library , through two complementary ingestion pathways designed for scale, transparency, and decentralisation without compromising copyrights nor reliability.

Any eligible researcher, institution, or knowledge provider can use pdf2qa to:

• Upload research documents

• Convert them into structured Q&A

• Add source metadata

• Transfer them to the Library

This makes the library a living, community-curated bank of scientific truth, not a closed, centralized repository — continuously updated in real time with research and information that matter.

A parallel automated engine continuously retrieves content from:

• Open Access research publishers

• Partner organisations

• Public entities and scientific repositories

• Sustainability knowledge networks

Every piece of content passes through the same responsible AI processing pipeline, ony extracted Q&As are stored with complete provenance.

What Makes Truth Library Different Truth Library is not an aggregator, not an answer-generation engine, and not a closed expert-review system. It is a single, open knowledge space where information is bite-sized, contextualized, and benchmarked across equally-exposed diverse sources.

Its real innovation lies in the learning loop: every user can comment, quote, challenge, or disagree, and every topic is cotninuously updated with multi-sourced and multi-level knowledge, helping both the community and the algorithms understand how scientific and societal consensus evolves at the intersection of science, policy, and public understanding.

Provenance First Every Q&A links back to its exact source - title, author, DOI, publisher, and URL. Consensus Measurement The system calculates cross-source agreement to show where knowledge is aligned, contested, evolving, or controversial. No more biased judgment, just a clear signal for everyone to see where consensus exists. Contradiction Discovery Instead of long searches to figure out where pieces of information contradict each other, Truth Library compares small chunks of knowledge for rapid contradiction discovery, allowing critical minds to take a stand using their own judgment. Correlation Mapping Users can explore how topics relate across domains, revealing hidden patterns in global knowledge.

Community Validation

Users can upvote, challenge, comment, add insights, and are credited for their work, creating a transparent human-AI knowledge loop.

Unlike other AI systems, Truth Library prioritizes accuracy over speed, verification over hype, and openness over gatekeeping. It is designed to empower critical thinking and informed action, not just provide information.A Clarifying Alternative to AI Hype

While the AI sector attracts billions, very few investments focus on truth-focused AI. A recent article highlighted a growing concern: money pours into startups promising “AI automation” and “AI productivity explosions,” while projects that protect truth—verification, transparency, provenance—are largely ignored.

Remember the COVID-19 miscommunication crisis? Millions of lives were affected because accurate knowledge wasn’t universally accessible in real-time. Imagine if a system like Truth Library, with verified consensus scoring, had existed. Decision-making could have been more effective, global responses more aligned. The same principle applies to climate change, sustainability, and countless other areas where truth matters.

Our Achievements So Far

• pdf2qa: fully developed pipeline for extracting Q&As from PDFs. (Free testing here 

• Truth Library beta platform: fully operational and accessible for volunteers and early users.(Free access here)

• Volunteer community: 120+ members shaping the first ever knowledge infrastructure, refining algorithms and verify knowledge architecture.
  

Next step

Heading to processing 500,000 Q&As from 25,000 climate-science papers, building the first layer of the global knowledge map. Later, we will expand to climate-related media and topics aligned with the 17 SDGs, eventually covering every domain where truth is at stake.
