About the Conference

Building the skills of tomorrow for sustainable development is a priority, however, where to start?   Sustainable development is a development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” ... And regarding the needs of future generations, a world with 10.8 billion people in 2100 is drastically different from our current world of 7 billion.

Adopted by the EU Commission in April 2021, the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive proposal (CSRD) is setting common European reporting rules, requiring more than 50,000 companies to report sustainability information according to mandatory EU sustainability reporting standards and to conduct a double materiality assessment. While 'sustainability is gradually rising up the corporate agenda, it is still seen by some as a forgotten department, with professionals struggling to convince key stakeholders of the risks and opportunities that can arise from the wicked problems of climate change, resource depletion and population growth.

What skills are needed to make sustainability happen? We will discuss this and other relevant questions with experts hands-on in sustainability projects within companies with the aim to discover how we -as individuals - should prepare for making an impact in a sustainable future.
